Growing Adventurer's Pawtection Program

The Growing Adventurers Pawtection Plan (GAPP) offered by Rugged Hound is a unique service designed for U.S. customers who purchase reversible or adjustable collars and harnesses directly from ruggedhound.com. With this plan, customers can have their collar and/or harness replaced with a larger size within one year from the purchase date, ensuring that most puppy, who are usually fully grown within 9-12 months, are well accommodated. The GAPP must be added at the time of purchase and is fully transferable, making it convenient for gifting. This plan provides peace of mind for pet owners, allowing them to ensure the perfect fit for their furry friends as they grow.

If you have multiple collars or harnesses in the order, you have a couple of options when it comes to protecting them using a GAPP If you want to protect all items purchased individually, you must get a GAPP for each of them. For instance, if you buy 4 harnesses and 3 collars, you can purchase a total of 7 GAPPs (one for each item). However, you also have the flexibility to purchase just one GAPP and use it for any of the items. In the scenario where you have 4 senior dogs and 1 puppy, you would only need to purchase the plan for the puppy's items, as the items for the senior dogs are fully grown and don't require individual coverage.

Once purchased you have 12 months to use the program. However, if a vet can confirm your dog is not fully grown by the age of one and you can provide a vet letter (on letterhead) we will be glad to extend this to the vets recommended age!

After receiving your returned item, it will be thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and then donated to one of our local shelters. You will also receive a letter along with your upgraded harness or collar, informing you about the shelter that will benefit from your returned product! We only work with no-kill shelters.

The cost of the program covers the cost of future shipping! We will set it aside in our account that is used for shipping costs and will use it for your return label when you are ready to use the program!

You can expect to receive the larger item in the same pattern or color as the one originally purchased. For instance, if you purchased a small lavender collar with the GAPP and your puppy has outgrown it, we will swap it for the same lavender collar in a larger size. The only circumstances where this may not apply is if you bought a limited edition item and that particular design or color is no longer available. In this case, you will have the opportunity to select a replacement at no extra charge!"

GAPP will replace harnesses or collars only once under the plan. Once the replacement has been made, the plan will be considered fulfilled, and no further exchanges or returns will be accepted. Moving forward, the lifetime guarantee will be the only coverage for your product, providing protection for damages and other items specified in the warranty.

When you are ready to use your GAPP plan to upgrade your puppy's gear to their adult gear, you can file a claim via email (Info@ruggedhound.com) or by filling out the form located at the following link. Simply provide the necessary information and details about your puppy's new gear, and our team will assist you in processing your claim efficiently. Unfortunately while it can be upsetting when an item is to small for your furbaby this plan does not cover this and is only here to help with the growth of a puppy. If however your item falls within our return policy we would be happy to exchange an unused product!

In order to qualify for the Plan Requirements, you must send back the current collar and/or harness with the provided shipping label. Please make sure that the collar or harness is in good condition, as items with significant tears, cuts, or damage will not be replaced. It is acceptable for normal wear and tear from regular use. Please be aware that the GAPP does not include items that have been damaged by biting or deliberate physical harm. Keep in mind that the returned items will be donated to local shelters to help other dogs in need. We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines.

Purchased the plan but never used it? That's okay! While we understand you might not have needed to use the plan, send us an email or fill out the contact form, and we will issue you a store credit/gift card to put towards your future purchase with the Rugged Hound! If you were unable to use the program due to the unfortunate loss of your puppy, please send us an email, and we will not only send a gift card to you but you will also receive one of our puppy loss packages at no cost. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we want to ensure you still benefit from your purchase with us.
